Description
BASIC FUNCTION
The Dispatcher/Logistics Coordinator is responsible for communication between customers and drivers, effectively and efficiently coordinating the work ordered with those who will perform and complete that work.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Answer incoming communications from customers, drivers, and internal personnel
- Take orders for equipment and services
- Communicate changes, updates and delays with drivers and customers in real time
- Record dispatches using automated technology
- Recommend equipment/and or services to fill the job and coordinate the same
- Ensure drivers operate within safe hours-of-service
- Maintain work schedules for drivers
- Dispatch loads to appropriate drivers and/or divisions
- Relay equipment issues to maintenance department as they arise
- Monitor weather conditions in service areas and adjust dispatch to maintain safety of employees
- Utilize computer automation to research lease numbers, tank numbers, leases by operator and ticket information
- Coordinate transportation of the equipment to an from vendor and jobs
- Data entry related to work ordered
- Receive and process request from all service locations and staging of equipment
- Perform other various duties and activities as assigned by supervisor
- Report to Work On-Time and As-Scheduled unless prior approval gained from manager/supervisor
- Schedule is OVERNIGHT work, at the Dispatch Facility
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
- Answer incoming communications from customers, drivers, and internal personnel in a professional and courteous manner
- Ability to read, write and speak English to the extent of being able to understand verbal and written instructions as well as give verbal and written instructions in English; and the ability to use simple mathematical calculations using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals (addition, subtraction, division, and multiplication) to make job related calculations
- Computer Literate
- Strong analytical skills
- Preform critical thinking and problem-solving skills in a fast-paced environment
- Detailed oriented
- Ability to multitask such as taking a phone call while performing data entry or researching customer information
- Ability to perform light lifting, stay in an office environment and have sedentary, low physical activity level for prolonged periods of time
- Acceptable criminal history
- Must have the applicable knowledge of DOT Rules and Regulations as required for operation of commercial motor vehicles
- May be required to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and nights as required for the position.
- Must have basic knowledge of the oil field and related equipment, materials and supplies associated with the trucking of oil field fluids.
